This afternoon (Saturday 8/20) at approximately 1:45 PM CST aerobatic performer Bryan Jensen impacted the ground at the Kansas City Air Show at Kansas City Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport and was killed. The Kansas City Air Show offers heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Bryan Jensen and the show is devastated by this terrible accident.

Aerobatic flying can be a dangerous thing as evidenced by today’s accident. However, the public was always safe as the air space guidelines were rigidly followed. The show’s emergency response worked as planned and emergency personnel were quickly on the scene.

After consulting with the show’s other performers, the show has made the tough decision to have tomorrow’s (Sunday 8/22) show go on as scheduled. The show will honor receipts from Saturday’s ticket holders at Sunday’s show.

The FAA and NTSB personnel are on site investigating this accident and the show will not have any additional information until that investigation is concluded.
