Young Eagles Flights

The Story Behind Young Eagle Flights
The Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 by EAA the Experimental Aircraft Association, based in Oshkosh Wisconsin. The EAA ís mission is to provide a meaningful flight experience - free of charge - in a general aviation aircraft for young people between the ages of 8 and 17.
Since the program's inception, more than 1.1 million Young Eagles have flown under the auspices of the program. These flights have been provided through the generosity of nearly 40,000 EAA member volunteer pilots. Countless other volunteers support the flights. Each year of the annual airshow MAYAA has provided the opportunity for area youth to experience the freedom of flight through the Young Eagles program. The program is coordinated through EAA Chapter 91. The pilots volunteer their time and aircraft and MAYAA provides them their fuel.
Your child can join the ranks of Young Eagles and see their world from a whole new perspective by coming to the Charles B. Wheeler Airport on August 11 and taking their FREE flight with written parental permission.
